#4 What Will That Give You That You Don’t Already Have?

It’s not confidence you’re missing—it’s clarity.
You tell yourself:
“Once I update my resume, I’ll start applying.”
“Once I redo my profile, I’ll reach out to that hiring manager.”
“Once I take that course, I’ll feel ready to pivot.”
But here’s what’s really happening: You’ve taken a necessary step… and turned it into a massive project. Now you’re stuck.
Your resume isn’t just a document. It’s a barrier between you and action. And that makes you feel like you’re not ready—when really, you’re just overwhelmed.
Let’s be honest:
You're not waiting to feel confident. You're waiting to feel done. But that version of “done” may not exist.
Here’s what’s true:
Confidence doesn’t come from being perfectly prepared. It comes from making something visible—and then realising you survived it.
Try this:
Instead of aiming for “ready,” aim for movement.
Ask yourself:
What am I telling myself has to happen before I can move?
What’s a version of that that I could actually do today?
For example:
If your resume hasn’t been touched in years—start with one bullet that actually reflects your impact.
If your LinkedIn feels embarrassing—focus on writing a headline that sounds like you, not a job spec.
If outreach feels like a whole campaign—think of one person you already know who might be a sounding board.
None of these are tiny.
They’re just smaller than the mountain you were staring at.
You don’t need to be more ready.
You need to feel your wheels catch.
Momentum starts the minute something moves.
